About Shahrekord

Shahrekord is the capital city of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, Iran. It is the largest city in the Province and is 90 km (62 mi) away from Iran's third largest city, Isfahan and 521 km (324 mi) from Tehran Shahrekord is famous for its natural beauty, cold winters, waterfalls and rivers. Shahrekord is the Iran’s highest capital city at 2,070 m (6,790 ft.) above the sea level. This led to be known as “Roof of Iran”. Its weather is dry, cold in winter and mild in summer. The town has a ski resort (Bardeh) located about 35 km (22 mi) away and several natural lagoons and small lakes for outdoor relaxation.

Shahrekord University , located in the West of Shahrekord, has started to work since 1971. Shahrekord University now has more than 8000 students which study in different educational fields and sections. 300 full-time faculty members in 8 faculties and 5 research and technology incubators build the core of academic scientists in Shahrekord University.

Shahrekord University Faculty of Engineering was established in 1998. The school currently has about 1,600 students in bachelor, Master of Science and PhD level. 470 students in mechanical engineering, 530 students in electrical engineering, 330 students in Materials Engineering and 270 students in civil engineering are studying in Faculty of Engineering.
